The Carson City Sheriff’s Office welcomed a new deputy, officially putting the office at 100 percent staffing capacity.

Deputy Daniel Henneberger was sworn in Friday afternoon at the Sheriff’s Office. He was pinned by his friend Bryan Williams.

Also at the swearing in, Sheriff Ken Furlong announced the department is in the process of requesting six new vehicles, five SUVs and one pickup truck.

Assistant Sheriff Ken Sandage and Chief of Financial Services Kathie Heath are in the process of completing the paperwork and getting them approved with the Board of Supervisors for purchase.

If the vehicles are approved, they would be in use by April or May 2016. Furlong said these will take care of one of the biggest needs of the department.
