Sierra Lutheran knocked off Hawthorne 25-20, 25-9, 19-25 and 25-23 in a Division IV volleyball match Tuesday night.
Gabby Kale and Grace Bonafede led the hitters with three kills apiece. Kale chipped in nine aces, second on the team to Claire Cochran who had 10. Kale led blockers with six, and Kimberly Eckert (18), Cochran (17), Olivia Zeron (13) and Brynna Hansen (10) all reached double digits in digs.
Smith Valley blanks Muckers
VIRGINIA CITY — Smith Valley rolled to a 25-21, 25-19 and 25-12 win over the host Muckers.
The Muckers dropped to 11-4 in league and 17-5 overall.
Kelsi Sequeira had five kills and nine assists, Chelsea Nevin had five kills, nine blocks and seven assists while Bethany Fuller added eight kills.

Carson visits Douglas today
The Carson Senators, with second place already wrapped up, visits Douglas today at 3:30 in the regular-season finale for both schools.
Both teams are already in the playoffs.
The Senators lost 1-0 to the Tigers in the first round. Carson is coming off an 8-1 win over Bishop Manogue.
Sparks pummels Dayton
SPARKS — The Dust Devils fell to 2-10-3 in league after dropping a 6-2 decision to Sparks on Tuesday afternoon.
