Wild Horse Children’s Theater is putting on a classic holiday musical whose characters are based on those of “Mother Goose.”
“Babes in Toyland” will play at 7 p.m. Fridays; 2 and 7 p.m. Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays from Dec. 4 through 13 in the Brewery Arts Center’s Performance Hall, 511 W. King St.
The story features Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary; Tom-Tom, the Piper’s Son; Jack and Jill; Little Miss Muffet; Red Riding Hood, Toy Soldiers, Wicked Uncle Barnaby and his comic-ruffian assistants, Olive and Stanley, who can turn children into dolls and sell them for gold; and lovable Jane and Tom who are his next victims. The adaptation uses the original music of Victor Herbert, including “Toyland, Toyland” and “March of the Toys.”
Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for seniors and students and $5 for ages 4-12 and can be purchased on line at www.wildhorsetheater.com, or by calling 775-887-0438, or, if available, at the door.
