Hillary lied about Benghazi

I forced myself to sit through the tedious testimony in the Benghazi hearing of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. We did learn that while standing in front of the flag-draped caskets containing the bodies of the Americans killed at Benghazi, she lied to the American people when saying the attack was due to a film.

Even worse, she then went over to the families of those brave dead Americans and lied to their faces. How do we know it was a lie, you might ask? She sent an email the night of the attack to her daughter saying it was a terrorist attack and then the next day said the same thing to the Libyan and Egyptian presidents. Her comments to them included the phrase: “We know” it was a planned terrorist attack and not because of the film.

Why would she do such a thing, you might ask? Remember that this was during the run up to the re-elect President Obama campaign, and his people came up with the phrase: “General Motors is alive; Bin Laden is dead and al-Qaida is on the run.” Having four Americans killed in Libya didn’t fit that slogan very well, now did it?

Do you know what is really troubling about all this? The fact that there are American citizens out there who will actually vote for her as president of the United States. Have we really sunk that low as a country. Whatever happened to integrity?

Appeal displays their liberal bias in story about Republicans

On Oct. 22, the Appeal ran a story regarding P.K. O’Neill running for reelection. In that story, it was reported that O’Neill has come under fire from Republicans for his supporting education funding.

That is not true. Republicans are angry because O’Neill misled them before his election. He ran saying he was not going to raise taxes, even stating the “sunset taxes” should sunset. He then voted just the opposite. He and our senator, Ben Kieckhefer, had to “defend” their votes. Sorry, folks, deception and breaking one’s word cannot be defended.

Had the entire tax package passed with O’Neill voting “no,” he would not be “under fire” from the Republicans. Alas, he did not do what he said he would do. He was not hired to “make the tough choices,” he was hired because he told us what he believed and how he would vote. Republicans will not make that mistake with him again.

For the Appeal to say, by implication, that Republicans are against funding for education is a slap in the face to all Republicans. Liberal bias displayed by the Appeal also represents poor journalism at its finest.

Voters should teach O’Neill a lesson

Assemblyman P.K. O’Neill claims he was hired by the voters to “make the tough choices” (Oct. 22 Appeal).

But his tough choices included conspiring with other dishonest politicians to pass a copy of the margins tax that 80 percent of his constituents had just voted down. The voters wouldn’t have hired him if they knew he was pretending to be an anti-tax, small government Republican. His other tough choice was to gift that tax money to teachers’ unions and the bloated education bureaucracy. Another very “liberal” trait. Voters should use the next election to teach O’Neill that honor and honesty, in a politician, are not just disposable affectations.

Benghazi just another Hillary lie

While the common Benghazi hearing narrative was that 68-year-old Hillary Clinton “endured” lengthy questioning, missing in many accounts is the fact that newly discovered emails and papers demonstrate conclusively that Hillary Clinton mislead the nation about the deadly Benghazi attacks on Sept. 11, 2012.

The hearing revealed that on the evening of the attack, Clinton was telling the American people that it was the result of a YouTube video, a concocted wild excuse to avoid blame, while she was emailing her daughter that it was an Al-Qaida-like group terror attack.

The day following the attack, Clinton gave two public comments, again blaming the video. But that same day, she told the Egyptian prime minister by phone: “We know that the attack in Libya had nothing to do with the film. It was a planned attack — not a protest.”

Five days before the attack, Democrats at their National Convention heard the claim that “Al-Qaida is on the run.” For Clinton to acknowledge the truth of what happened only 56 days before the 2012 election would have destroyed their false political narrative.

The late New York Times columnist William Safire once called Hillary Clinton “a congenital liar.” Benghazi represents her most recently revealed lie.
