RENO — Carson High’s girls tennis team dropped a 35-34 double-overtime thriller to Galena Thursday afternoon.
The loss dropped Carson to 2-2.
“It was very exciting,” CHS coach Justin Clark said. “I hope the girls learn from these matches. Literally each point counted, and that’s where we fell short.”
Each round was tied 3-3, forcing the overtime.
Shaylin Segura went 2-1 in singles as did Anya Woodbury and Emma Breeding. Emily McCaskill and Amanda Schulz went 2-1 in doubles.
Galena won 7-5 in the No. 3 tiebreaker, 7-5 in No. 1 doubles and 7-1 in No. 2 doubles.
Carson won 7-2 in No. 1 singles, and 9-7 in No. 2 singles and 7-5 in No. 3 doubles.

Taylor Saarem won twice as did the doubles teams of Zach Simms and Jayson Artz and Nico Salm and Danny Dudley in a 12-6 home loss on Thursday
Douglas rolls to win
MINDEN — Madelyn Landerfelt went 2-1 to help the Tigers to a 14-4 win over Spanish Springs on Thursday.
The doubles team of Kayleigh Carlson and Anne Pomroy went 3-0, dropping just four games. Tara Cottrill and Kylie Coziahr, and Terra Williams and Kaitlyn Smith were also undefeated on the day.
