A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a vehicle Thursday in Carson City.
At about 2:50 p.m., the Carson City Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported auto vs. pedestrian accident at 101 Hot Springs Road in North Carson City. Although the pedestrian had been reported trapped under the vehicle, by the time officers arrived, he had been removed and was conscious and speaking.
The patient was treated at the scene by Fire/Paramedics and transported by Care Flight to Renown Medical Center.
The pedestrian was identified as a 71 year old male who was crossing the street in the crosswalk when he was struck by a northbound pickup truck. The 68 year old driver of the vehicle was cited at the scene for failing to yield to a pedestrian.
At 7:49 p.m., the Carson City Sheriff’s Office was notified the pedestrian victim of the accident had died.
No other details were available as of Thursday night.
