The tradition of Homecoming is once again here at Carson High School. Congratulations to the following students who have been nominated by their senior classmates as queen and king candidates. Tess Corda, Paris Regan, Kassidy Cox, Delaney Fine, Lindy Lehman, Haley Gray, Ikela Lewis, Todd Lani, Asa Carter, Connor Pradere, Joe Nelson and Eddie Duarte. Monday there’s no school. The night time activity is a drive-in movie, “Monsters Inc.,” playing at 8 p.m. There’s free admission. Water and popcorn will be for sale for $1.
On Tuesday, Lunch (Under the Bed-pajamas) and Disney villain trivia. At night will be Lip Sync at 7 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center. Cost is $5 with SBC, $7 without SBC.
On Wednesday, Lunch (Under the Sun–beach day/luau) and beach ball bowling. At night will be “Wednesday night live” from 7-8:30 p.m. a the Carson City Community Center.
On Thursday, Lunch (Under the big top–twin day) and limbo. At night will be a bonfire from 6-8 p.m. featuring games, bonfire, music, dunk tank and club booths.
On Friday, Lunch (Under the lights–Game day attire) and musical chairs. At night will be the football game against Hug at 7 p.m. The parade begins at 6:45.
On Saturday will be the semi-formal dance at 7 p.m. in Senator Square.
A reminder we have changed our traditional “Open House” format to a Family Night which will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday. We will be providing a free hot dog dinner to families who attend the event and complete our “Family Night Passport.” We hope to see everyone here.
JR. CHEER CAMP
CHS Cheerleaders will be hosting the upcoming Jr. Cheer Camp from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday in Senator Square. Young cheer campers will learn dance and cheers, then perform during halftime of the Friday, Oct. 2 football game. All Jr. Cheerleaders will receive a pink cheer bow for the performance. HOSA
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, CHS HOSA students will be hosting a car wash and rummage sale in the U at the front of CHS. Pre-sale car wash tickets are $3 and can be purchased from any HOSA student, car wash will cost $5 on the day of. All proceeds go to help send HOSA students to State and National conferences to compete and represent Carson City. They also will be accepting any donated rummage sale items. Please bring donated items to the school that Saturday morning from 9-10 a.m. This is a good way to get rid of that junk in the garage and help out some students in the process. BOWLING
CHS bowling club will begin pre-season practices Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Gold Dust West. There will be a bowling team meeting in the first week of October during lunch. Watch and listen for the meeting date to be announced. See Mrs. Mannschreck in room 231 if you have any questions.
THEATER NEWS
CHS Theater students will be performing at 7 p.m. Wednesday during “Wednesday Night Live” sketch comedy show as part of Homecoming week. The performance will be at the Community Center and costs $5 at the door.
On Oct. 2-10, “The Importance of Being Earnest” by Oscar Wilde will be performed. A trivial comedy for serious people, the show tells the story of two wealthy young men who weasel their way into the hearts of two young women by both claiming to be a fictitious character called...Earnest. Tickets are $10 for general admission, and $5 for CHS Students with student body card. This event will be performed at the Community Center; seating is limited, so get your tickets early.

STUDENT OF THE WEEK
This week’s student of the week is Suleiman Abedelhade. Suleiman is new to Carson High. Suleiman constantly goes out of his way to help others and is always making others smile because of his kindness. Thanks Suleiman for all you do at Carson High.
SENIOR SPOTLIGHT
This week’s spotlight is senior Autumn Cueller who carries a weighted GPA of 4.27 and is currently enrolled in four Advanced Placement classes and two honors classes. Autumn has been a part of National Honor Society all three years. She will be graduating with an honors diploma. She was a volunteer at the Boys and Girls Clubs for about two years before being hired as a Junior Staff member. Autumn is involved in the drama program and is going to be in the production of “Importance of Being Ernest.” After graduation Autumn plans on attending University of Nevada, Reno and earning her masters in Computer Engineering. Way to go Autumn and thanks for your contributions to CHS.
