Col. Curry: An artesian well bored near the State Prison has already reached a depth of 160 feet. Curry says he means to keep boring until he strikes a spring of water that will rise to the surface — or keep on until he reaches China.

Photo caption: For more than 100 years the familiar white brick home on Curry Street stood as a historical landmark in Carson City. In 1962 it was razed and Union Federal Savings and Loan Association built a modern office building on the identical spot.
