Jan. 24, 1946 - July 30, 2015
Doug entered the earth January 24, 1946 and left us on July 30 2015. Born in Dunsmuir, California to Allen and Margaret (Albonico) Henry, he enjoyed a mountain childhood in Weed and Yreka, CA. After college, he joined the Air Force where he worked with computers. After the service, he moved to the Bay Area where he was a hardware, then software, engineer for early Silicon Valley and Japanese companies. Social life was centered around photography, golf, and the Bay Area Western Dance Group. Retirement in Carson City, Nevada did not stop his mechanical mind as he built complicated clocks, while learning new western dance steps with the Eleventh Frame Winners Lounge Group. In August, this Group held a wonderful Doug Henry Memorial dance. On Saturday 9/26, the San Jose Western Dance Group held a memorial dance. He is survived by his sister Rosalie Black-Baker, niece, Kimberly Black-Stark, grand nephew Cody Stark and many cousins.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of life: October 10th at his home in Carson City, Nevada. RSVP for details: 530-559-0255 or 510-673-1909. Donations are to veterans non-profit organizations such as the Wounded Warriors.
