Sixty-nine players participated in the Jim Regan Memorial Golf Tournament, a Churchill County sponsored event for the benefit of scholarships, held on Sept. 19 at the Fallon Golf Course.
Two $1,000 scholarships were awarded in 2015 to Aurora Smith and Trey McGowan. Jim Regan was heavily involved in our community and was a former Churchill County Commissioner. His legacy continues to benefit our community.
The team of Vestless Friends won first place, including Travis Hansen, Matt Chicvara, Owen Mackedon and Ricky Beach. The Tar Baby team consisting of Tom Rhodes, Andrew Palmer, Bob Johnson, and Steve Sicherman won second place. Coming in third was the Circle K team of Alan Kalt, Claude Dickens, Whitey McBroome, and Thaaron Kalt. The teams each donated their winnings back to the scholarship fund.
The men’s Closest to the Pin prize winner was Chris Regan and the Longest Drive winner was Andrew Palmer, who donated their cash winnings back to the scholarship fund. The female winner of the Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive contest was Jeanine Paul-Rambeau. Fallon Auto Mall donated a 2015 Toyota Corolla for the Hole-In-One prize. Unfortunately, there were no winners for the car.
