For the first time since the 2012 general election, voter registration in Nevada has topped 1.5 million.
The total of 1,504,801 as of this past week is actually the highest total voter registration Nevada has ever reported, exceeding the 2012 mark by 3,983.
“The state of Nevada has reached an incredible milestone,” said Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske. “I am thrilled to see the citizens of Nevada so engaged in the upcoming elections.”
Because 2014 was a non-presidential election year, total registration for that General was 1,475,969.
Cegavske said there’s still well over a month to go before the deadline to register to vote in the June 14 Primary elections. That deadline to register in person or online is May 24.
The deadline to register for the General Election is October 18.
