The following cases were heard in the Tenth Judicial District Court.

John Jefferson King II pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, a Category E felony. Judge Thomas L. Stockard set bail at $15,000 before King was remanded into custody to the Churchill County Jail.

Tyler James Bagby pleaded guilty to one count of burglary, a Category B felony, and one count of unlawful use of a schedule 1 controlled substance, marijuana, a Category E felony.

Stockard set bail at $5,000. Sentencing is set for June.

Daniel Eugene Morse pleaded guilty to being under the influence of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and was released on parole on his own recognizance despite the state’s opposition.

Morse’s lawyer pleaded for this release so Morse may live with his grandmother and be able travel weekly to Reno for specific HIV medication.

Morse still faces extradition in California for separate charges of supervision violations which will be dealt with beyond this case. Sentencing is set for June.

Caleb Michael Casey’s arraignment was set for May after the completion of five more weeks at the New Hope Recovery Ranch in Silver Springs. His lawyer entered Casey’s guilty plea to being under the influence of methamphetamine while Casey was absent from court.

Jonathan Dale Kelley pleaded guilty to one attempt to commit battery causing substantial bodily harm, a Category D felony or a gross misdemeanor. The charge is punishable to four years in Nevada State Prison and a fine not exceeding $15,000 or 364 days in Churchill County Jail if the charge is treated as a gross misdemeanor.

This case was heard after a three-year delay since it first began June 8, 2013, when Kelly caused substantial harm to victim Gretchen James by throwing her to the ground.

Kelley was released on parole despite the state’s opposition based on several prior offenses, with bail reduced from $70,000 to $10,000 with the stipulation of a no-contact order with the victim James. Sentencing is set for June.

Brian Louise Calhoun was sentenced to 12-32 months in Nevada State Prison, a suspended sentence after Stockard granted probation not to exceed five years.

Calhoun was guilty of being under the influence of a controlled substance, a Category E felony. Calhoun was released on probation to continue working out of Pamona, Calif,. as a truck driver, a position which requires regular random drug tests.

Calhoun was not required to attend drug court, but his probation comes with the condition of attaining a licenses substance abuse evaluation as well as no possession or use of drugs.

Calhoun was given credit for 20 days served toward his sentence.

Trevor James Nady’s probation was revoked and was remanded to the custody of the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office. Nady was given credit for 86 days served.

William Patrick McGee pleaded guilty to one count of driving under the influence of liquor, a Category B felony punishable by one to six years in Nevada State Prison and a fine not lower than $2,000 not to exceed $5,000.

This was McGee’s third offense and he is ineligible for probation.

Stockard ordered a Pre-sentencing Investigation Report (PSI), and McGee was given two weeks to acquire a Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor (SCRAM) ankle bracelet before entering a rigorous DUI rehabilitation program. Sentencing is set for June.
