Four people were arrested following the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Joining Forces event in March.
The two events, held March 17 and March 31, focused on education on impaired drivers in Carson City. Four people were arrested during the two days: two arrested for DUIs, one drug arrest and one warrant arrest. 79 citations were also issued for traffic related violations.
The purpose was to help inform drivers and riders of the dangers of driving while impaired to try to reduce the number of car crash injuries and fatalities on Carson City streets and highways.
Joining Forces is grant funded provided by the Nevada Department of Public Safety-Office of Traffic Safety. The money is used to pay for additional deputies who participate in the event.
Joining Forces is a multi-jurisdictional law enforcement program that promotes statewide enforcement in the areas of DUI, distracted driving, seat belt use, speeding and pedestrian safety. The goal of these enforcement campaigns is to save lives by increasing public awareness about the dangers of making poor choices while driving.
