OCCUPATION OF LANDS

Do you ever feel like we’re living in an occupied territory?   

I do.  Sometimes I feel like I’m caught in a time warp – that I’m living in Europe in the days leading up to World War II, or in Eastern Europe immediately after the war, with agents of the Soviet Union taking over one country after another. I feel it happening here, now. It isn’t so much the flash-bang, strong-arm tactics of Nazi stormtroopers.  It’s more like the subtle encroaching of  Soviet apparatchiks, the “fifth columns,” quietly taking over. They try to calm us with words like, “We’re from the government and we’re here to help”.  And eventually, through bribery, intimidation, threats and even force they conquer us.      

Armed agents of our current federal government invade private land, seize private property, even shoot private citizens in the back along lonely highways in rural Oregon.  They corrupt local law enforcement authorities to assist in their mission to exert ever more control over us.    

Bureaucrats from far away who know little and care less about our culture are sent to implement regulations and orders that defy common sense and good science.   Without regard for the environmental, ecological and economic impact on the area, they put huge tracts of land off-limits to private enterprises. They are often influenced by special interest groups following the agendas of foreign powers.    

I believe our representatives in local, state and national governments can play a large role in changing, this by gaining control over our public lands, establishing our sovereignty, rebuffing ridiculous federal dictates.  For the sake of future Nevadans and people throughout the west.  Let’s pray that they do it.

Electing our president ... Should we elect someone who will not tell us what promises were made at a private fund raising? Should we elect someone who will not tell us what a $250,000 speech was about? Should we elect someone who is pro fracking? Should we elect someone who is pro Exxon Pipe Line? Should we elect someone who has told us what America’s problems are?

Should we elect someone who has told us how those problems can be solved? Should we elect someone who has told us that “I can not solve them alone.” Should we elect someone who is anti fracking?

We must elect someone who has wisdom, 1. Quality of being wise: ability to judge soundly and deal sagaciously with facts, esp. As they relate to life and conduct; discernment and judgment; discretion; sagacity. 2. Hist. Scientific or philosophical knowledge; erudition; learning.”

Who is that someone? Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT). The Republicans voters have told the Bush Dynasty that enough is enough. Now the Democratic voters must tell the Clinton Dynasty that enough is enough.

We must never forget what President Abraham Lincoln said: “That this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom-and that government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the earth.”

Bernie Sanders is not America’s problems. Bernie Sanders is America’s solution. President Sanders, with our help, will solve America’s problems.

SCHOOL VOUCHER LAW CONSTITUTIONAL

Regarding the letter from Rick Van Alfen, I would like to point out to Mr. Van Alfen and others who may have the same misunderstanding of the voucher program, that the program is not government funding of religious education.

The program is religion-neutral, in that the money can be used for a variety of venues, as the recipients see fit.

The fact that religious/private schools typically return far better academic results for less money certainly may guide the choices of the parents, but please don’t make this into some kind of constitutional issue by crying wolf about “government-sponsored religion.”

That is not the case here.
