Both the boys and the girls swimmers landed impressive victories against Incline on Saturday because of the absence of many Incline athletes. The boys earned 140 points to Incline’s 14, and the girls won 122 to 93.

Fallon coach Ken Grimes attributed the wide margin of victory in the boys division due to Incline only had one swimmer participate in the boys meet.

“Incline has some very talented swimmers, but they lost several seniors last year and are working to build,” Grimes pointed out.

In the boys competition, Fallon’s foursome of Kendall Rogers, Nick Amerson, Christian Nemeth and Charlier Brown wswam uncontested in the 200-yard medley relay in 2:06.70. Rogers would compete against Fallon’s Justin Bivens in the 200-yard freestyle, taking first place in 2:33 followed by Bivens at 3:11.59.

Christian Nemeth came out on top in the 50-yard freestyle at 24:68 against Incline’s Robert Jones, finishing 25.30. Jones, however, would finish first in the 100-yard freestyle at 57.03 against five Wave swimmers with Isaac Kelsey trailing second at 59.62.

With only one male swimmer for Incline, Fallon’s boys teams took each relay event by default.

Grimes said he was pleased with Kelsey who finally swam under a minute in his event, as well as with other swimmers such as Charlie Brown dropping time in the 100-yard Butterfly (1:17.25) Katlynn Hanks in the 500-yard freestyle (8:03.28, second to Incline’s Kate Rye) and Kaelehn Nemeth improving in both the 50-yard freestyle (29.68 second to Incline’s Rye at 25.26) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:14.83, second to Incline’s Ciera Winberh at 1:12.37).

“I was very pleased with our performance on Saturday,” Grimes said. “Many of our newer swimmers are dropping significant time in their events.”

Continuing for the girls, Fallon sophomore Bailey Diede finished first in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:30.92. Sophomore Kataline Martinez took first in the 200-yard individual medley at 2:39.72 as well as in the 100-yard freestyle (1:04.05).

In the 20-yard medley relay, a team event, Incline’s team took first in 2:19.24 while the Fallon foursome of Kaelehn Nemeth, Amber Revels, Madison Tiede and Martinez trailed by less than half a second (2:19.68).
