The Greenwave track and field team returned to local competition last weekend in Carson City after competing in back-to-back California meets.

Fallon finished 12th in the boys division, while the girls took 13th in the 25-plus team meet. Weather, though, was Fallon’s nemesis in the Carson Invitational as rain fell on Friday and Saturday.

Fallon hosts the Conclave of Awesomeness today at the Ed Arciniega Athletic Complex. Yerington, Dayton and Fernley will converge for the small meet, which begins at 1 p.m. with the field events and 1:30 p.m. with the running events.

Tristen Thomson and TJ Mauga continued to turn out consistent marks this season with Thomson, a senior long distance runner, winning the 1600-meter run. Thomson turned in a time of 4 minutes, 35.38 seconds, while Mauga, a junior thrower, finished fourth in the discus and ninth in the shot put. He threw for 152 feet, 5 inches in the discus and had a 45-8.25 mark in the shot put.

The relay teams held strong with the 4x800 finishing the highest at third while the distance medley team was seventh. The 4x800 team of Joseph Terry, Mario Ugalde, Isaiah Williams and Thomson finished in 8:39.37, while the medley team was 12:36.39.

Fallon girls win JV meet, boys take fourth

Notable performances from the girls included Beyer winning the 100, 200 and high jump in 13.89, 29.87 and 4-8; the 4x100 and 4x800 relay teams finishing first, and Fallon placing four in the top five of each the long and triple jumps.
