Over the course of two days, Friday and Saturday, 15 officers from the Carson City Division of Parole and Probation office, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office performed personal contacts with high risk offenders in the area. The operation was made possible through funding provided by a Justice Assistance Grant to support the Division of Parole and Probation.
As a result of “Operation Safer Streets”, four offenders were arrested for violating conditions of their supervision and seven non-supervised individuals were arrested for committing new crimes. Officers performed 63 home contacts, 3 employment contacts, 2 field contacts, 22 drug tests and 5 K-9 searches. In addition to meeting with offenders, officers performed 48 personal contacts with members of the community to verify offender compliance.
