Two separate crashes occurred Thursday within miles of each other on U.S. Highway 95 South near one of the Navy’s bombing ranges.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the first crash happened at 2:50 p.m. near mile marker CH6 when a southbound pickup pulling a utility trailer veered off the roadway. The NHP said the driver tried to return to the highway, but he lost control, struck a fence and flipped the truck and trailer on their sides.
The NHP said there were no injuries and did not release a name.
The NHP did not issue any citations.
The second crash occurred 20 minutes later near CH1 when a northbound vehicle overturned. The driver, Lou Carfield, 81, of Arizona, was injured and transported to Banner Churchill Community Hospital 24 miles away in Fallon.
The NHP did not have any information on his condition.
