RENO — The city of Reno will spend up to $50,000 investigating allegations that the city manager sexually harassed three women.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports that in a unanimous vote Thursday the City Council gave Mayor Hillary Schieve the power to choose an outside investigator to look into claims made against City Manager Andrew Clinger.

Three women have filed a joint sexual harassment complaint against Clinger.

Some council members suggested Clinger take voluntary leave while the investigation is ongoing. During the meeting Clinger did not respond, but after he said he won’t voluntarily put himself on leave at this time.
