Douglas County Historical Society to meet Aug. 11 in Gardnerville

Listen to stories about growing up in the Carson Valley and share your own at Douglas County Historical Society’s next lecture on Thursday, Aug. 11 at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395 in Gardnerville.

The program, “Fond Memories: Growing Up in Carson Valley” or “Those were the Days,” will feature the Hickey brothers, Mike, Dan and Tom, along with Dale Bohlman and Linda Shaw Reid who will talk about growing up in Carson Valley in the ‘50s and ‘60s.

Doors open at 6 with the lecture to follow at 6:30 p.m. The event is free for members and $3 for everyone else.
