Healthy Families, Healthy Communities Health Fair is a free event which will take place on Aug. 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 pm. at Lattin Farms, 1955 Mclean Road. The event is presented by agencies that have joined together to improve the health of our children, families and communities - Amerigroup An Anthem Company, Family TIES of Nevada, Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health Maternal and Child Health Program, Easter Seals Nevada, Immunize Nevada, Access to Healthcare Network and the Nevada Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities.
Healthy Families, Healthy Communities Health Fair will connect Northern Nevada’s rural communities to health and community resources which are available but vastly under-utilized. Lack of knowledge among residents about where to go for help, isolation from larger population centers, transportation, language and cultural barriers often prevent consumers in rural areas from accessing critical care and supports.
This free health event will offer residents in all surrounding areas information and health resources to help them access services easily and improve their health and quality of life
