COURT NEWS

The following cases were heard in the Tenth Judicial District Court before Judge Thomas Stockard.

Joshua Keelyn Gravley was sentenced to 19-48 months in the Nevada State Prison for unlawfully obtaining the identity of another to avoid prosecution, a Category C Felony. Despite four prior misdemeanor convictions Gravley’s sentence was suspended for probation. The conditions are that he reports to parole and probation, enter into and complete the Reno Sparks Gospel Mission and has no possession/use of alcohol.

Michael Vincent Hyde was placed on probation not to exceed three years. Conditions include that Hyde enter the Western Regional Drug Court, remain in custody until his first day of drug court and have no possession/use of drugs or alcohol.

Curtis Allan Prindle pleaded not guilty to four counts of principal to the crime of grand larceny of personal goods or property with a value of $3,000 ofr more; principal to injury to other property of $5,000 or more; damaging or interfering with use of telegraph or telephone line; and possession of instrument with burglarious intent. A four-day trial has been scheduled for a future date.

Richard Steele pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance, a Category E Felony. Steele faces One to four years in the Nevada State Prison and a fine up to $5,000. Steele was placed on probation not to exceed three years with the conditions that he enter and complete the Western Regional Drug Court, remain in custody until his first court date and have no use/possession of drugs or alcohol.

Anthony James Rinehart pleaded guilty to possession of a schedule 1 or 2 substance, Norco, with intent to sell, a first offense Category D Felony. Rinehart faces one to four years in the Nevada State Prison and a fine up to $5,000.

Sentencing is set for September.

Brian Nigel Pettaway pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor, his third or subsequent offense, a Category B Felony. Pettaway faces one to six years in the Nevada State Prison and a fine no less than $2,000 not to exceed $5,000. Sentencing is set for October.

Carry Ann Peavey was sentenced to 19-48 months in the Nevada State Prison for burglary, a Category B Felony. Peavey was given credit for 128 days served.
