When it comes to supporting CAPS, our community really shows its true color: shiny gold. Our annual garage sale was a success because of the many caring folks who donated items and money. We would have been lost without the volunteers who transported, sorted and priced the merchandise. Of course, we are thankful for all who came to purchase things.
CAPS is supported entirely by the donations we receive and money we raise through our fundraising activities. Our three main fund raisers are the Murder Mystery Dinner, Bark in the Park and the garage sale. We appreciate the enthusiasm of everyone who makes the effort to show up and become part of the CAPS family. Please read the list of businesses and volunteers who make our no-kill shelter possible.
WHO’S WHO
Jeff and Jill Christensen are the owners of Jeff’s Copy Express and Spring Valley Rentals. They provided the storage units for all the treasures that were donated. They also provide a place to sell our tickets and calendars.
Pastor Bill Vaughn at Oasis Community Church provided their beautiful facility to use for the garage sale. It was lovely to be out of the hot sun and have a nice space to display our treasures. We also thank Rusty Richmond for the advertisement on their outdoor sign. It was heavenly! A big thanks go to Michelle and Rusty Russell for all of their help with logistics.
Steve Ranson and Lahontan Valley News give us a voice in the community. We appreciate your commitment to our no-kill shelter. You have given our guests a chance to become part of a loving family.
Please support the businesses and organizations that help us so much and be sure to thank all the volunteers for the gift of their time.
WHO’S NEW AT THE CAPS’ ZOO?
Lexi is a beautiful one-year-old American bull dog mix. She is white with brown patches just in the right spots. Lexi is simply adorable, friendly and searching for a family to love her. You can check out this beauty on Facebook and our website or come and take a stroll with her. You’ll be thrilled.
We are happy to announce that all our beautiful puppies and their mom have been adopted. This is a real live happy-ever-after story. Thank you to the folks who opened their homes and hearts to our guests.
VOLUNTEERS WHO HELPED
Our profound thanks go to Billy and Rita Hand, Teresa Summers, Ken and Faye Wylie, Tom Graham and Geri Doyle, Pauline and John Friedrich, Betty Duncan, Leona Quilici, Shirley Doolen, Kim Lamb, Mary Spires, Frank Griffin and Jeff Hanson. You are the heart of our organization, and your commitment is awesome.
CAPS’ NEWS AND EVENTS
CAPS is still in need of dog food. Honestly, we have been writing letters, applying for grants and making calls. It seems our organization is too small to garner support from many of the dog food suppliers. We are not giving up! Until we find a supplier, we are kindly asking for donations. As I have mentioned before, we need food that has no artificial coloring. Some examples include Iams, Purina Pro-Plan, Taste of the Wild, and Nature’s Recipe.
CAPS will be at Walmart on Aug. 20 along with Ki at our Kissin’ Booth. Please come by and give our boy a big hug and kiss. We have caps, short-sleeved T-shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts so please check them out before or after greeting our canine volunteers. You can also pre-order the 2017 Happy Endings Calendar
Flower Tree Nursery is again raffling a 15-gallon tree of your choice. The raffle tickets are available at Flower Tree, and they are $1 for one ticket and $5 for six tickets. Be sure to get your tickets soon. The drawing date will be Sept. 6, and the winner doesn’t have to be present to win.
CAPS’ mailing address is P.O. Box 5128, Fallon, NV 89406. CAPS’ phone number is 775-423-7500. CAPS’ email address is caps@cccomm.net.
