Dick Campagni’s Capital Ford is inviting area residents to join it for the grand opening of its completely remodeled dealership Saturday.
General Manager Tim Milligan said the party starts at 1 p.m. and runs until 4 and will include representatives from the Carson City Chamber of Commerce and city officials including Mayor Bob Crowell.
“We’ll have a live band, be doing raffles. We’re going to have some food and celebrate a lot of hard work.”
The Reno chapter of the Mustang Club and the Model T Club also will be at the dealership located at 3060 S. Carson Street for the celebration.
“It should be a nice turnout,” Milligan said. “We’re looking forward to it.”
The project, he said, cost “in the $2 million range” because of some unexpected challenges in the remodeling process.
“It’s an old building,” he said. “It was built in 1957 so there were some challenges there but we worked through them.”
Milligan said everything in the front of the building is new.
“We didn’t bring anything that was part of the store over and that includes technology.”
The remodeled dealership features an extended awning to accommodate an outdoor showroom for up to eight vehicles. He said it also creates a sun block that will let them keep the inside showroom at a more consistent temperature.
There’s more room for the dealership’s finance and insurance offices, completely remodeled bathrooms and a customer waiting area complete with fireplace similar to the one at the Toyota dealership also owned by Campagni.
He called the dealership of 100 employees large “and growing.”
