Carson City Sheriff’s Office: Man arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, battery on an officer

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

MONDAY

At 12:10 p.m., Blaze Thomas, 18, a transient, was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance and contempt of court after deputies conducted a follow up investigation near the 500 block of Richmond Avenue. Bail was set at $5,500.

At 15:06 p.m., Steven Bumgarner, a transient, was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a stolen vehicle, felony possession of a controlled substance, felony contempt of court, possession of burglary tools, battery on a peace officer, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing after deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop near the 2000 block of N. Carson Street. Bumgarner tried to flee on foot, however, was detained near the 200 block of Sage Street. Bail was set at $38,800.

TUESDAY

At 1:20 a.m., an 18-year-old Dayton man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and disobedience to traffic control devices after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Sonoma Street and Van Epps Drive. Bail was set at $1,640.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies and violent crimes. Carson City Secret Witness will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals committing crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call 775-322-4900.
