Man arrested for threats after third Carson City fire in three days

A third fire in as many days was quickly extinguished by the Carson City Fire Department on Tuesday.

The Carson City Fire and Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported fire at the 1000 block of East Appion in South Carson City at 1:35 a.m. At arrival, the fire was restricted to the front door of the occupied residence and had already been extinguished. This marked the third early morning fire determined to be man caused in as many days. Emergency crews extinguished fires at the Foreman Roberts House Museum in North Carson City early Sunday and Monday mornings. Both of the Roberts House fires also were contained to the doorways.

Late Tuesday, Sheriff’s Detectives identified Clinton Gore as a suspect in the East Appion incident. Gore was taken into custody and booked into the Carson Jail on the charge of misdemeanor threats. Bail was set at $575.

The investigation into the man caused fire, as well as those at the Roberts House remain open and active.
