New uniforms for Nevada Public Safety

Wear testing, pricing and design have been completed and the new Nevada Department of Public Safety’s uniforms will be available for field operations beginning January 1.

State employees will have up to two years to make the transition from the preexisting navy blue uniforms currently in use to the new gray uniforms (see attached photos).

Nevada Public Safety wants to make sure the public is aware if they happen to have interaction with law enforcement officers identifying themselves as the Nevada Highway Patrol or a DPS officer dressed in the new gray colored uniform, they’re Department of Public Safety officers with all powers and jurisdictions associated with that position.
