A comedian who doubles as a magician is returning to the Carson Nugget Friday for a holiday performance.

Back by popular demand, Justin Rivera, a comedian and magician from the magic Castle in Hollywood, is returning to the capital city on Friday, Dec. 9.

Rivera was recently named a judges’ favorite on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.” He has been seen on “Fast Track to Fame” on the Speed Channel and “The Gong Show” on Comedy Central with Dave Attell and Adam Corolla. He also has opened for headlining comedians Jo Koy, Russell Peters and Rex Navarrete.

Another holiday performance by comedian Rex Meredith is planned on Dec. 16.

Meredith’s shows include musical impressions, original characters, and a variety of hysterical stories. His act includes topical material and impressions of Joe Cocker, Aretha Franklin, Aaron Neville, Rap singers, Scotty McCreery and others.

Meredith has been seen on “The Tonight Show” and in over 100 television appearances including on HBO and Showtime. He has been featured on CNN’s Entertainment Report, Entertainment Tonight, Evening at The Improv and many others.

The casino’s comedy lineup continues with K-Von, of “Last Comic Standing” fame, on Dec. 23.

K-Von, a star of MTV’s “Disaster Date,” can be seen on LAUGHStv and Netflix. Born and raised in Reno, his stand-up comedy career has taken him around the world several times performing in comedy clubs and theaters.

On Friday, Dec. 30, the Nugget will host Chris Franjola, who began his writer/comedian career in Long Island, NY.

Franjola was a writer and performer on E!’s “Chelsea Lately” for 8 years. He helped write more than 1,500 episodes while also performing on the show more than anyone else besides Chelsea Handler and Chuy.

Before “Chelsea Lately,” the comedian wrote for other shows, including “Family Guy,” the “MTV Video Music Awards,” and the original “Chelsea Handler Show.”

Franjola also starred on the critically acclaimed scripted comedy series “After Lately,” which aired for three seasons on E! He was the host of the Sons of Anarchy after show, “Anarchy Afterword,” which aired live on FX.

This month’s final comedian, Mark Christopher Lawrence, will help welcome the new year with two performances on Dec. 31.

Lawrence is best known for his series regular role as Big Mike on the NBC TV series “CHUCK.” He is currently enjoying a recurring role on Kirby Buckets on Disney XD. He can be seen on the Disney Channel’s original TV movie, “Life is Ruff,” and as a guest performer on “Lab Rats,” “Good Luck Charlie,” “Heroes,” “Weeds,” “My Name is Earl,” “Reba,” “Grounded for Life,” and others.

Doors open at 6:45 with all shows following at 7:30 p.m., with the exception of Lawrence’s shows, which are at 7 and 9:30 p.m.
