With the motto “Every Home a Classroom,” the nonprofit ComputerCorps has Windows 7 lap tops for $95 and tower PCs at the same price.
Included with the $95 lap tops are Core 2 CPU processor; 2 gigabyte memory and 80+ GB hard drive; DVD drive, keyboard and mouse; wired and/or and wireless network ready; Open Office productivity software; anti-virus flash an Acrobat Reader. Specs for tower PCs are similar. Limit is two sets per household, specs may vary but minimums are as listed above. Upgrades are available on processors, hard drives and memory. All systems are eligible for Microsoft’s free upgrade to Widows 10.
ComputerCorps also stocks computer accessories such as mice, Internet connection cables and 17-inch monitors for $20 and 19-inch monitors of $30 and more.
The Carson City location at 560 Mallory Way, opposite to the Nevada Appeal, is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
