Blair Roman, Carson High football coach, said goodbye to his senior football players Sunday afternoon at the annual end-of-the-season banquet held at the Plaza Conference Center.
“This group of seniors had a lot of success over their careers here,” Roman said. “Our season was gaining a lot of momentum (at 5-2) and I think we were ranked fifth in the state. As the string of other injuries played out, particularly to Jace Keema, really affected our momentum and the loss to Damonte was the start of a three-game losing streak that was very unfortunate.
“The great thing about football is that it’s a huge character builder, and the boys continued to work and play hard. We just didn’t recapture the momentum we had. I’m really proud of the seniors and the whole team in terms of attitude. It showed in how tough we played Reno at the end of the year. That game showed a lot of what we call “Carson Pride” within our program.”
