Webinars planned to help earn grants from Nevada Arts Council

The Nevada Arts Council is hosting a series of free grant webinars this month for nonprofit organizations, schools and public institutions.

The first webinar, Applying for Annual Grants, will focus on the agency’s annual Partners in Excellence and Project Grants categories that support arts projects and programs throughout the state.

The second webinar, Grants to Support Arts Learning Programs, will focus on NAC grant opportunities that support arts learning programming and projects offered by schools, public institutions and arts organizations.

These webinars are designed for both the novice grant writer, those unfamiliar with the NAC or NAC’s Grants Online system, and experienced grant writers looking to improve their applications.

“We continue to see an increase in requests for NAC grant funding. We strongly recommend that both new grant-seekers and existing grantees join us for this year’s webinar. Our goal is to have both novice and experienced grant writers gain valuable information, reduce anxiety about ‘getting it right’ and build confidence in knowing that they can produce a strong grant application,” said Teresa Moiola, grants program coordinator for the Nevada Arts Council.

Topics will include: which NAC grant category is appropriate for your needs and situation, how NAC grants are awarded (evaluation criteria, panel process, board approval), avoiding some of the commonly made mistakes in the preparation and submission of competitive grant applications and how to make the Grants Online system work for you.

The Applying for Annual Grants webinar is Friday, Dec. 16, from 10 to 11 a.m. or 3 to 4 p.m.; and on Monday, Dec. 19 from 10 to 11 a.m.

The Grants to Support Arts Learning Programs webinar is 3-4 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 19.
