The Tahoe/Douglas Elks Lodge recently provided winter clothes to some students from C.C. Meneley Elementary School. Students were provided sweatshirts complete with the “Mountain Lions” logo. Each child also received gloves, knit hats, and a winter coat and three books that were picked for them by their teachers. This effort was funded by Elks member donations and a Beacon Grant from the Elks National Foundation in Chicago. The grant also will provide funding shoes, socks and other clothing needed at the school.
