Western Nevada College sophomore center fielder DJ Peters has been selected as the Scenic West Athletic Conference Player of the Week for his offensive output during the opening week of the season.
Peters provided the Wildcats with a home run, four RBI, two runs scored and two walks.
“DJ has started the spring in midseason form,” said WNC coach D.J. Whittemore. “This is entirely attributed to his amazing work ethic and preparation during the winter break. He is just so driven and understands that to get where he wants to go, there are no shortcuts.
“We are happy for him being recognized and believe that it will be the first of many honors to come for him this season.”
The Wildcat cleanup hitter went 4 for 7 against South Mountain Community College and was on base seven times in nine at-bats.
