An early morning gunshot wound described as self-inflicted resulted in a medical helicopter landing at Douglas High School.
Douglas County deputies and East Fork Fire District medics responded to the 800 block of Ironwood Court at 4:30 a.m., according to the sheriff’s office.
The man had a gunshot wound to the abdomen, according to sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Pat Brooks. He was taken to Renown Regional Medical Center by CareFlight helicopter, which landed at Douglas High School around 5 a.m.
No one was at the school when the incident occurred.
The man’s condition is unknown and the case is still under investigation, Brooks said.
Ironwood Court is located in Westwood Village.
