The Carson City Sheriff’s Office seized nearly two pounds of marijuana following a confrontation at an AM/PM gas station Monday afternoon.
Deputies responded to the South Carson Street Wendy’s for a dispute that had happened at the gas station. Logan Snyder, 20, had called 911 to report he had been in a confrontation with another man at the AM/PM and had pepper sprayed the man in the face.
The man told deputies he had been outside the gas station with a sign asking for help on the corner of Clearview, next to the AM/PM when Snyder pulled up next to him and started shouting and cursing, according to the arrest report. The victim said he ignored Snyder so he drove to the back of the gas station where he parked for about 45 minutes. When Snyder pulled back out of the station, he allegedly stopped next to the victim and motioned for him to come over to the vehicle.
Snyder allegedly had his shirt pulled up, covering his mouth and nose and when the victim bent over to look into the window, Snyder pepper sprayed him in the face and drove off.
When deputies arrived on scene they said Snyder was acting erratically; allegedly shaking with nervousness and making several odd comments such as “the homeless guy was just jealous of my hair,” the report said. He told deputies he hadn’t planned on spraying the victim, but said he felt threatened by the direction in which the victim approached his car.
Deputies had to detain Snyder. While Snyder was showing deputies the pepper spray evidence, they observed a large jar of marijuana in plain sight. Upon search of the vehicle, deputies found two large bags of marijuana, weighing two pounds total, drug paraphernalia, marijuana seeds, THC candy, hash oil, methamphetamine and evidence of a marijuana grow.
The deputies reported Snyder told them he knew having meth was a mistake, but he didn’t think having the marijuana was a big deal.
Snyder was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and battery. Bail was set at $9,500.
