A three-vehicle crash on Allen Road on Tuesday caused a road closure that lasted several hours and sent four people to Banner Churchill Community Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
According to the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office, all three vehicles were northbound on Allen Road when the crash occurred at Birch Lane about 5:41 p.m. While CCSO deputies handled the incident, the Nevada Highway Patrol, which was providing traffic control for the number of people attending the Republican caucus at the fairgrounds, blocked off Allen Road at Sheckler.
The Fallon Police Department provided traffic control at the north end of Allen Road so that first responders could attend to the victims and remove the vehicles.
Sheriff Ben Trotter said a maroon Chevy Tahoe driven by Faleesha Perry rear-ended a 2000 Dodge Durango driven by Vince Impastato. He then rear-ended a white Toyota Corolla. The driver of the lead vehicle, Denise Alvarez, had stopped and was waiting for traffic to pass before making a left-hand turn into Birch Lane. Perry was cited for driving without due care causing injury.
Trotter said paramedics from Banner Churchill took passengers from the Durango, Christina and Amanda Impastato, as well as Vince Impastato, to the medical center. In addition, Trotter said paramedics also transported Alvarez to the hospital.
The Fallon Churchill Fire Department responded to the call where firefighters removed the Durango doors to extricate the injured occupants.
Trotter said all those involved in the crash are from Fallon.
