The readers’ voting, the numerous hours of counting and the notifying of winners all takes time, but the hard work is worth it.
The tabulations have been completed for the numerous categories in the 2016 Best of Fallon, an annual program that salutes the best businesses, individual and places to go in our area. This will be the most comprehensive list of the top winners in our area.
LVN Editor Steve Ranson said the Best of Fallon program is not affiliated with the Fallon Chamber or Churchill Economic Development Authority recognition programs. While their voting comes from members, Ranson said the community and LVN’s readers select Best of Fallon based on the different categories. This year the LVN received almost 9,000 votes with the majority coming from online.
Although many businesses and individuals have returned as winners in the Best of Fallon, this year’s list will include newcomers and past winners.
Beginning next week, the LVN’s Beverly Crossland and Joan Crumpler will begin notifying the Best of Fallon winners. Ranson said no one else is authorized to represent the LVN because of previous problems with scam artists.
A special edition on March 30 will announce winners and second-place finishers. Each winner will receive a plaque, and a special recognition breakfast will honor first-place recipients.
“We provide our Best of Fallon winners with a plaque at no charge,” Ranson said. “If you also receive an email asking you to buy an ad so you can be in the Best of Fallon directory, be aware that this is not the local contest we provide to our readers.”
Ranson said businesses and individuals must be aware of entrepreneurs who try to scam Best of Fallon winners before results are released.
