A Carson City girl whose dream is to act in TV and film productions is collecting donations to cover costs of traveling to Los Angeles to attend an acting convention.
Abby Golik, who has been acting, singing and modeling since she was 6 years old, is one of 350 young performers nationwide chosen to attend The Industry Network’s convention in June, when an audience of more than 125 acting, singing and modeling agents will be on hand to see Golik and other attendees audition.
Golik has been a part of the Youth Theater Carson City Kids and a member of the Showstoppers Musical Theater show choir. She’s performed in dozens of local stage performances, most recently landing a role of Alice in “Alice in Wonderland,” which is to play next month at the Carson City Community Center.
Golik is hoping to raise $3,000. Businesses who contributes $100 or more will be featured in the event’s advertising program. To make a donation, go to www.gofundme.com/qgr43jdd.
