Carson City Comma Coffee hosting Cool Jazz in January with Mile High Jazz Band Tuesday

Cool Jazz in January, a big-band event with vocalist Cindee LeVal, is planned from 7:30 to 9 p.m. today at Comma Coffee, 312 S. Carson Street.

The 19-member band will perform music in the spirit of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Woody Herman, and others from its repertoire of more than 100 charts. Cindee LeVal will sing cool and hot tunes with the big band: Wacky Dust, Jumpin’ East of Java, Hey There, and more. General admission is $5 at the door and free for ages 18 and under.
