A six-week shotgun shooting program for children in grades 6-12 is offered at 6 p.m. Fridays at Capitol City Gun Club, 3590 Arrowhead Drive.
The program, coached by nationally certified 4-H, NRA, YSSA shotgun coaches, focuses on gun safety, shooting basics and rules of the games. Classes open Friday with a safety and orientation night. Live fire shooting is planned on Fridays from Jan. 22 through Feb. 19. Participants must attend the safety class before shooting. The cost is $10 for orientation night and $25 per live shooting night. Space is limited; reservations are recommended. A parent or legal guardian must attend.
