New flagstaff. So that the emblem of our legislators’ loyalty may be seen from a far off, a new and taller flagstaff has been erected on the Capitol. The star spangled banner is in triumph and shall wave o’er the land of the free and the gold grabbers’ grave.

Weather causes trouble. A heavy percentage of moisture causes flue ores and concentrates to freeze into solid masses in cars after loading. When the ores reach the samplers, it is necessary to use pick to loosen up the mass ... blasting has been resorted to also. Concentrates shipped from the Buckhorn property at Ophir have measured at 24 degrees below zero.

Bordewich Bray and Seeliger schools. The schools suffered flooding or ceiling damage estimated at $10,000. At Bordewich Bray, water was running down King Street and spilled over the curb enabling water to enter through the doors.
