Juan Pedro Arraiz passed away peacefully January 9, 2016 at his home; he was eighty seven (87) years old. He was born May 22, 1928 in Erro Navarra Spain. He came to the United States October 31, 1954 to herd sheep from Lancaster, California to Bodie, California crossing the Mohave Desert on foot with a band of sheep. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, two sons Mark and Dominic, two grandsons Steven and Nicholas, his brothers Martin Arraiz (Carson City) and Basilio Arraiz (Gardnerville). He is also survived by six sisters and two brothers in Spain as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews both here and in Spain. Juan’s passions were fishing, gardening and spending time at the sheep camp at Bridgeport, CA. Juan retired from the Carson City Parks after 23 years of service. No services are planned; there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of floral arrangements, please make a donation to the Carson City Senior Citizen Center 901 Beverly Drive. Walton’s Funeral and Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
