Teri Sweeney Studios in Gardnerville is offering a six-week introduction to watercolor workshop 1-3:30 p.m. Thursdays beginning Feb. 4.
The workshop will introduce students to supplies and techniques used in watercolor painting. Techniques will be demonstrated by the instructor, Ann Proffitt, and then practiced by the students as exercises that may be framed as miniature paintings when completed. Proffitt has been teaching weekly watercolor classes using techniques learned from Sweeney for the past year. Her work has been shown in local shows as well as at the Draft Horse Classic in Grass Valley, Calif.
Sweeney is a nationally recognized artist whose work has been shown in Western art shows throughout the southwest. Her work can be seen online at www.tsart.org.
The cost is $150. For $10, materials will be provided to any students who would like to give painting a try but are uncertain about investing in painting supplies.
For more information or to register, contact Proffitt at dancingpaint42@gmail.com or 775-790-0141.
