Carson High grad joining local law firm

Carson City native, Kyle A. Winter is returning to Carson City to accept an associate position, effective Sept. 8, with Allison MacKenzie Law Firm, where he will focus his practice in the areas of family law, estate planning, guardianships and probate law.

After graduating from Carson High School in 2005, Winter graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2009 with a degree in criminal justice and an emphasis in philosophy. In 2013, he obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash. Winter returned to the area to begin his legal career clerking for the Honorable James E. Wilson Jr. at Nevada’s First Judicial District Court in Carson City, then for the Honorable Jerome M. Polaha at Nevada’s Second Judicial District Court in Reno.

A member of the State Bar of Nevada and the Carson City and Washoe County bar associations, Winter was admitted to practice in Nevada in 2013.

Winter is a supporter of United Blood Services and donates blood whenever possible. He looks forward to exploring other area volunteer opportunities in the future. He and his wife live in Reno with their newborn son and two dogs. They enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, including fishing and golfing.

$2.6 million contracts for D & D Roofing

D & D Roofing and Sheet Metal president Ken Dillon announced the company has launched the New Year on a bright note with $2.6 million in contracts for new jobs.

These new jobs include the following in Reno: Dick’s Sporting Goods, Reno Tahoe International Airport Disposal Facility, Skyline Villas, Idlewild Pool, 1 South Sierra Street WC Community Center, Golden Valley Industrial, Renown Radiation, NW Smile Shop, Common Shopping Center, City Center Apartments, Courtyard Apartments and the E.L. Weingand Fitness Center at UNR.

Other jobs include: Alliance Commercial, Sparks; Washoe Travel Plaza, Gardnerville; Alta Village Apartments, Incline; Churchill High School, Fallon; and Sonoma Springs Apartments, Winnemucca.

D & D Roof and Sheet Metal, which is now 100 percent owned by its employees, is Nevada’s leading roofing company with headquarters in Sparks, and an office in Carson City. It also offers services to portions of northern Nevada and California.
