An annual golf tournament in support of breast cancer awareness and mammograms, scholarships, school supplies and other charitable causes is returning to Silver Oak Golf Course in Carson City on Aug. 27.
Soroptimist International of Carson City’s 15th Annual Stroke to Help Golf Tournament will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start. The format is four-person California scramble costs $100 per player. The fee includes a continental breakfast, lunch, green fees and cart.
The fundraiser is the service club’s primary source of funds that allows it to provide mammograms and other diagnostics to local women and girls. The club also provides scholarships, school supplies (Back Pack Attack), gifts to seniors and children through the year and grants to other charitable organizations.
There will be a raffle and prizes for team first place, hole-in-one, closest to the pin, closest to the line and longest drive. Check-in is at 7 a.m.
