Alvin Glenn (Al) Honea, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at the Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, Nevada. Alvin was 72 years of age.
Alvin was born to parents Earl and Manda (Pearl) Honea on September 10, 1943 in Susanville, California. Alvin was raised in Susanville and attended Lassen High School.
On June 16, 1962 Alvin married his high school sweetheart, Judith (Judy) Morelini. The couple had two sons who were also raised in Susanville, California.
If Alvin wasn’t working at the local grocery store, he could be found dedicating his time coaching the youth sports that his sons were involved in, baseball, basketball and football.
In 1986 the couple moved to Carson City, Nevada, where they lived until moving to Henderson, Nevada in 2004.
Alvin is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Pearl Honea, and his brother Sammy.
Alvin is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judy Honea; his sons, Kevin and Robert Honea; his brothers, Don, Bob, and Richard Honea; his sister, Diann Jackson; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 4:00 at Hope Church 850 E. Cactus Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89183. There will be a reception immediately following.
