Carson splits first two games on Boise trip
BOISE, Idaho — The Carson Blue Jays scored seven runs in the first two innings en route to a 9-3 win over Capital High Monday night.
The Blue Jays used four walks, a single by Landon Truesdale and a two-run double by Jared Barnard for five runs.
Carson scored twice in the second inning to take a 7-0 lead. The Blue Jays added runs in the fourth and fifth.
Bryce Moyle was stellar on the mound, allowing just a run and four hits over five innings. He also struck out seven.
Ben Nelson threw a scoreless sixth and Kyle Glanzmann gave up two meaningless runs in the seventh.
Abel Carter. Moyle, Derek Schafer and Jesse Lopez also hit safely for Carson.
Late Tuesday night, Carson lost to Rocky Mt. High 8-7. Carson scored three runs in the fourth to take a 7-6 lead, but Rocky Mt. scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to pull out the win.
