The community is invited to discuss an array of topics with Supervisor Karen Abowd at her monthly walkabout meeting on Friday, June 17.
The walkabout is usually conducted on the second Friday of the month, but a scheduling conflict requires this month’s event to be on the third Friday of June. Abowd conducts the monthly informal gatherings as a way to hear from and interact with her constituents.
“We have so much going on in Carson City, and the people always bring great ideas to the table,” she said. “This helps me be more effective in addressing their needs and concerns and in working toward a shared vision that grows from their ideas.”
Among the topics folks might like to discuss are the community’s streets, how to implement smart growth and develop and create additional outlets and opportunities arts and culture, which in addition to being key to promoting a solid tourism base, also improves quality of life for everyone.
To participate, meet on the steps of Carson City Community Center at noon, and feel free to take a sack lunch.
