Cleveland was born in Manhattan, Nevada on September 16, 1926. He went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on June 6, 2016 with his loving family by his side. Cleveland belonged to the Te-Moak Tribe of Western Shoshone Band of Battle

Mountain Indians. He was loved and adored by his family and friends. His life was full of hunting, camping and hitting the Pow Wow trails where he enjoyed visiting and speaking his Shoshone language with other elders. He enjoyed watching and playing Handgame, but his most enjoyable time was watching his grandchildren play in their numerous sports.Cleve was a WWII veteran and very proud of that fact, soon after the war he became a career miner, where he worked in numerous mines thruoughout the state of Nevada, only to move to work and retire at Union Carbide Mine in Bishop California with his family, and that is where he began planting his family roots.leve is preceded in death by his parents, Wixon and Maude Charley, brothers, Albert Sr. and Herbert (Soup) Charley, wife, Leora Charley, ex-wife, Hazel Crowl, sons Phelon Jackson Sr. and Clayton Charley and great-grandson Kannon Butterbredt.He is survived by his sister, Jo Petit, son Norman Charley, daughters Carla and her husband Harry Butterbredt, grandchildren Gina and Phelon Jackson Jr., Dua, Isaiah, Micah and Jacob Bacoch, Donabe and Wixon Butterbredt, great-grandchildren, Justin Jackson, Alika Bacoch, Kinlee Butterbredt, Lilliana and Andre Jackson. He is also survived by several cousins, nephews and nieces. Interment will be graveside in Austin, Nevada, Saturday June 11th at 12:00 pm with Reverand Ernie Hooper officiating.
