Last night’s meeting. Last night the league filled the hall, and several lively resolutions came up. A resolution to ask the city fathers to abate the filth nuisances in Chinatown was adopted. Mr. Corbett introduced a resolution to remove Chinatown from the city limits. Adopted. The league also adopted a resolution to hire Chinese cooks with the approval of the Executive Committee, there being no white kitchen help available.

Maney LeBlanc, better known as “Blondie,” was shot and killed at 9:30 o’clock Sunday night in the Phoenix rooming house on Oddie avenue and Mineral street in Tonopah by Laura Randall, his paramour. The killing occurred after LeBlanc had forced his way into the Randall woman’s room against her wishes. LeBlanc had been drinking.

Three oil stained and discolored flags of the famed battleship USS Nevada arrived in Carson City today and are now on display at the state museum. The Nevada is on its way to Bikini atoll where it will be the “bulls eye” in the atom bomb target demonstrations soon.

Reno’s city council is on the horns of a dilemma — or the horns of a bunch of wild-eyed steers. A gambler can take his choice. To drive or not to drive, that is the question. The Reno Rodeo Association wants to drive cattle down Main Street and the city council gets to decide.

The south parking lot at Carson City High School will be open Saturday and Sunday for use by people attending the Kit Carson Rendezvous. The extra parking will be needed because the center parking lot at Mills Park will be closed.
